The University of Valladolid (UVa) is one of Spain’s prominent higher education institutions, hosting nearly 28,000 students annually across four campuses. With 173 research groups and four technology centers, UVa excels in R&D, focusing on sustainable technologies and resource management. It manages approximately 180 research projects per year and facilitates international collaborations through its European Projects Office. UVa is also recognized for its commitment to Open Science and excellence in library management, ensuring compliance with Open Access standards.

UVa contributes to FUSILLI through its GIR-TADRUS research group, specializing in advanced technologies for sustainable development. This multidisciplinary group, comprising experts in agriculture, environmental engineering, economics, and food technologies, provides valuable insights into sustainable food systems. UVa leverages its expertise in resource management, stakeholder training, and technology transfer to support FUSILLI’s goals of transforming urban food systems and promoting sustainability.

 

Role in the project

UVa contributes to the research work in creation of the Food2030 Living Labs, Food policies d practices identification, and urban food participatory long-term planning tasks.
