The final Product of the Month event took place on 9th December at the Municipal Market of Castelo Branco, marking the end of an incredible journey celebrating 36 editions. Over the years, this initiative has highlighted the best of local agriculture while honouring the dedication of our producers and the richness of our land.
To close this chapter, we celebrated a duo of fruits that symbolize autumn and welcome winter: pomegranate and persimmon. These vibrant fruits, full of colour, flavour, and versatility, not only brighten tables during this season but also warm cold days with their nutritional benefits, cultural significance, and wide range of culinary uses.
Along the way, we embraced creativity and played with food as a way to promote the value of local and seasonal produce. With the support of CATAA’s food technologies and the imagination of the team, we explored innovative approaches that made each edition unique and engaging.
Though this journey has come to an end, the inspiration it sparked will live on—encouraging all of us to continue valuing local, seasonal produce and supporting a local sustainable food system.
